Termanology – So Amazing

Massachusetts has become an absolute hotbed for hip hop talent in recent years and here is yet another example of a truly dope young MA emcee with a truckload of potential. Termanology, who hails from Lawrence, MA, has been in the game since 2005 when he teamed up with producer DC the Midi Alien to release the album ‘Out the Gate’, which contained a number of sureshot bangers. One of said bangers, the single ‘This is Hip Hop’, saw the young emcee featured in The Source’s Unsigned Hype column. The heat generated by ‘Out the Gate’ and Termanology’s various other mixtape releases meant that when he came to release his next album in 2008, a number of high profile hip hop producers were more than willing to lace him with a dope beat to bless. The track that I am posting here, taken from this 2008 album ‘Politics as Usual’, was produced by the legendary DJ Premier and it has Termanology explaining to everyone why he is one of the best emcees out. On top of this track Premo also provided the beat for another of the album’s stand out tracks ‘Watch How It Go Down’. Other producers that contribute to this album are Pete Rock, Large Professor, Buckwild, Hi Tek, the Alchemist, Havoc, and Easy Moe Bee! Continuing in the trend of working with ill hip hop production talent Termanology went on to release a collaborative album in 2010 with fellow Lawrence MA resident Statik Selectah, another exciting young talent. The album entitled ‘1982’ contains yet more boom bap bangers. At this point, on top of his album releases Termanology has also built up an extensive catalogue of mixtape releases that I would also recommend people check out. The kids work rate is incredible, but no quality is lost. I am expecting even more great things from this guy in the future.
